Works on Paper

This group of relief prints is based on the phenomena of weather and the technical data used to describe it. To give the appearance of moving air I use the repetitive lines or barbs found in winds aloft charts as a template to perforate my prints. The barbs denote wind speed and direction. The hand-punched holes in the paper allow light to waver across the page in a cloud-like manner. With these works I am interested in how information can look like the thing it is describing without being pictorial.
